My sister turned twenty AND joined a sorority this weekend, so my mom and I jetted down to Miami for the weekend to celebrate. With only a carry on and limited space, these are the products that made the cut.
The Glossier Invisible Shield has been my face sunscreen of choice. It’s lightweight, isn’t drying, doesn’t leave a white cast in photos, and doesn’t break me out. It also is glowy enough to wear alone. It’s perfect for my skin type and tone!
Lancome Skin Feels Good Hydrating Skin Tinthas been my foundation of choice for days where I don’t have a whole lot going on. It offers enough coverage where my redness and scars are reduced, but my skin still shines through. The lasting power isn’t STELLAR, but it fades evenly so my skin doesn’t look patchy.
For concealers, I brought two on accident. The Too Faced Born This Way Concealer is probably my all-time favorite. It’s full coverage but blends seamlessly and doesn’t crease. I wore it on nights out over top of the Lancome Skin Tint, and applied it on the areas of my skin where I needed a bit more coverage. The other pick that snuck into my makeup bag was the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Bendy Avocado Concealer. I’m still undecided on how I feel about it — it looks amazing upon first application, but fades within the first few hours and leaves me looking tired and a little ashy and sick.
For bronzer, I stuck to my two favorites: Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer for contouring, and the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave. Princess for all over bronzy look. Can’t go wrong with either of these. They’re both mid-toned and don’t look too extreme on my face. I love both of them blended over the eyelid for a cohesive, easy, eye look for nighttime.
I’m a highlighter girl for sure, so picking just one was hard. I ended up going with the Flesh Beauty Flesh to Flesh Highlighting Powder in Lift, which is a wet-looking champagne gold. I applied it on a fluffy brush over top where I appleid bronzer to make my skin look sun kissed and tan.
For eyes, I relied on creams to give me a blended look that didn’t loo like I’d spent ten minutes in front of the mirror. The NudeStix Magnetic Eye Color in Immortal acted as an eyeliner/eyeshadow combo. I would blend the color all over the lid with my finger before applying the color from the pen along my upper and lower lashline for a more pigmented and intense look. I would then apply the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24-Hour Concentrated Crayon in Audacious Asphalt along the outer third of my upper lashline to give me more of a cat-eye look.
I brought a few different mascaras on this trip, but the one that I relied on for everyday was the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. This one still blows my mind every time I use it. It’s dramatic and voluminous, and doesn’t smudge, fake, or flake off. As well as it lasts, it comes off with my Eve Lom cleansing balm with no tugging. And I don’t wake up with raccoon eyes in the morning.
So there you have it! My top picks. The things I shoved In my too-small makeup bag to make me look a little less dead in the morning.
