My Look: Winter 2015

All the stuff I wear on my face to look somewhat presentable in the daytime

People are always asking me what’s on my face – my eyeliner tricks, what bronzer shade I’m wearing, etc.I found a look that’s super quick in the morning but looks super polished, and I figured today I would sit down and spell it out. Enjoy!!

I always start with a moisturizer. Recently I’ve been obsessed with the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It’s heavy duty yet light as air on the skin and really seeps in fast to prepare for anything I put on top. I usually wear something a little lighter during the day, but with the weather being below freezing every day this break, my skin has taken a hugeeeee tole.

For primer I love the Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Primer. It’s so hydrating and really smooths out my skin’s surface. It plays a major part in my makeup lasting that little bit longer.

For foundation I’ve loved using the Meybelline Dream Liquid Mouse or, for lighter days, the Revlon Age Defy CC Cream. Obviously I don’t need any age-defying done, but the constincancy and coverage of the Revlon CC cream is perfect for no-fuss mornings. The Maybelline leaves an absolutely flawless, dew-y finish. Plus, they’re both from the drugstore, so big ups on that.

For concealer, I love one of two concealers: The Maybelline FIT ME concealer or the Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Concealer. I prefer the Maybelline option for concealing redness, blemishes, and other discolorations on my face and I reserve the Covergirl option for under my eyes. Both have great lasting power plus a great price tag, so there’s really no way to go wrong!

My powder of choice is the Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder. It offers a light coverage that doesn’t look heavy on the skin or cake-y under the eyes. I’ve had for  so long that I’m nearly out, but it’s on my repurchase list for sure; it even beat out a Laura Mercier powder I borrowed stole  from my mom’s beauty cabinet!

My go-to bronzer is Hoola by Benefit. It’s the perfect matte shade for contouring while warming up my face without looking too orange. It has a subtle coolness too it that keeps the effect looking natural.

For blush, I often wear my ELF Cosmetics powder blush in Candid Coral. It offers a warm, natural, peachy, flush to my face.

Eye makeup is pretty simple. I begin with the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow in “Bad to the Bronze” all over my lid with a bit of bronzer in the crease and a highlight shade from my Urban Decay “Naked” Pallette in the inner third and under the brow bone. I then line my eyes with my Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner in black, and, if I’m going out, rim my inner waterline with black or deep purple pencil (I’ve been loving the NYX Slide on Eye Pencil in Black or the Urban Decay Glide on Pencil in Vice). I then coat my lashes with the Maybelline Butterfly Mascara and call it a day!

Lips are easy: a bit of balm and I’m out the door – I’m not really into liners and glosses and whatnot

Hope this helped! xoxo
